FIAS Toolkit

These FIAS Event Guidelines have been created to help organisers make off-road cycling events more welcoming and inclusive for women and marginalised genders (women+).

FIAS Event Guidelines

Events play a key role in shaping cycling culture and visibility, making them a powerful tool for inclusion. The guidelines are adaptable to all event types and provide practical examples - commitment from organisers can create safer, more inclusive, and welcoming events for everyone

The Event Guidelines are one of the outputs of Project FIAS (Fostering Inclusive Action Sport), a project run by the University of Bristol designed to understand and address gender inequality in mountain biking. The researchers leading on the Toolkit focus on understanding and addressing gender and other inequalities in sport and physical activity. Another key output from the project is the FIAS Framework, which you can find here.

To the right, you can download the Event Guidelines. If you would like to discuss the guidelinesfurther, or find out more about Project FIAS, please contact Fiona Spotswood (Fiona.Spotswood@bristol.ac.uk).
